Pace...pace...pace...pace...

"Bro quit pacing you going to make me dizzy." The voice of Strider sounded next to you.

"Sorry." You mumbled, slowing down but not stopping.

That troll's voice rang clearly in your ears, and guilt kept churning in you stomach. He did save you more or less and you did betray him. A memory flashed behind you eyes, blood spilled on everything. It made swirled designs as it crept across the wooden floors, staining everything. The guilt dissipated in mere seconds, an animalistic growl slipped between your lips. Dave simply watched you slightly cautiously, he'd seen you go a little beserk before so it was good to be a little stand offish when that happened.

"_______!" Johns voice had you turning with a sigh.

"Yea, what?" A delicate eyebrow raised in curiosity.

"The troll! He is almost tipping the caravan. He won't stop yelling and growling at everyone. He almost got the keys to get out!" He had a scared glint in his eyes.

Your eyes widened before running to the caravan, John was right it was tipping left and right viciously. A woman was outside shuddering slightly with a scratch on her arm, holding the keys. Sighing you walked up and banged on the door, hard enough that it was surprising the wood didn't break, the tipping stopped and you opened the door. Light flooded in spiraling into the dark. There was the troll leaning against the bars a smug grin on his features.

"Heh I thought they'd thend you." he smiled, resting his arms on the bars.

"What do you want Troll?" Your words were clipped and cold.

"You don't expect me to juth thit here do you? I'm captive, I'm going to cause a meth." his grin seemed to get wider if possible, " Not thmart to thend the girl that carrieth the key to give a captive food."

Your anger boiled and almost slid out off your mouth but before it did you took a breath.

' He's just trying to get to you,  ________. That's all he's doing.'

Turning you stepped down closing the door a little. Dave and John were right outside.

"I'm going to need you guys to watch him while I go get some stuff." you sighed, the troll was right you would need to keep a good eye on him to make sure he didn't get out.

"Why?" Dave questioned.

"Because I'm going to have to keep an eye on him, what better way than to be in there." your voice was strained, this wasn't going to be easy but you had to do this.

John's mouth fell open before he shouted, "________! You can't be serious?! You'll end up killing him or something, he's dangerous!"

"No really?" You scoffed, walking to your caravan, Dave stood at the door guarding it.

The boy kept trying to persuade you out of this, failing miserably but trying. You walked into your caravan, grabbing some candles, a bed roll and Old Mag's book. Might as well figure out what you were dealing with while it's sitting across from you. John still kept talking to you but it'd become background noise to you. Walking up you took a breath.

"_______, you sure your cool with this?" Dave asked before you stepped in.

"I'm not but we don't have much of a choice." You stepped up, closing the door, lighting a candle and putting it on a post.

The light was dim but it still illuminated the room. The troll was sitting against the far wall, silent and watching. The candle's light brought out shadows and a gleam to his glasses, it almost made him look menacing.

"Tho what exactly are you doing here, human?" he questioned, not moving from his spot.

"Making sure you behave like a good boy." You growled, pulling out a the book.

"Oh a big bad girl ith going to keep me in line, funny." his voice poured into the air.

You looked down at the book ignoring the slight shiver that rolled down your back, his voice was getting to you. Your eye scanned the book, Old Mag had taught you to read a rarity, looking for the odd symbol that played in you mind. Flipping pages was the only sound that filled the air for what seemed like hours. Finally finding the symbol you began to read. A Gemini, a psionic...now That was something to add onto his dangerous demeanor. A psionic of all the thing, of all the ones that broke off from the group you got luck enough to catch a psionic, gold blood.

"Um...tho...what ith your name." his voice was closer, you'd been so caught up in reading you didn't notice him moving to the bars.

Your eyes flickered up from under your eyelashes, " None of your business."

Sollux tilted his head, this human was for lack of a better term intriguing. She didn't seem to shy away or be scared of him at all. In fact she acted like her running across a troll was a common thing for her. He took in the features of her, e/c looking up from under her eyelashes, h/c hair gleaming in the candles light, beautiful. Even that scent that rolled off her, she smelled of the woods and freedom like she'd never known rules that'd hold her to the ground. She was appealing and a different kind of hunger slipped through his mind before he forced it away.

"If I told you mine would you tell me yours?" he questioned, hands wrapping around the bars.

You stopped for a moment. Were you actually considering this?! Your mouth opened before you'd even get the chance to think of it.

"_______." He noticed how your eye widened slightly and how your words weren't cold, then a frown marred your face.

"No lath name?" Sollux asked, it was odd to him that you didn't say one.

"I never had one. I told you mine now what's yours." your voice wasn't as clipped as before.

"Thollux...Thollux...fuck..."he growled slightly at the fact his forked tongue prevented him from even saying his name, you had to fight a giggle that threatened to spill out.

"Sollux. Do you have a last name?" A spark of curiosity filled your eyes, last names were a rare thing and often were kept for those in the higher caste.

"Captor." he spoke slightly happy that you could figure out his name over his lisp.

"I'd say it's nice to meet you but i don't think it's fitting for our...situation." you spoke looking back down at the book.

Silence fell over you two once again, but didn't last long.

"Tho what are you reading." you groaned and looked up at him.

He was closer than he sounded, the candle light giving him a slightly well handsome look to him. It gleamed off his horns and glasses even slightly off his overbite. You shook your head shaking the thoughts away.

"It's a book a friend gave me." you answered, looking down at it.

"No, really? I meant what ith it about." you could practially feel him rolling his eyes.

"Trolls. I figure I should know how to kill you if you ever get out." You snapped, that anger leaking out.

He raised an eye brow. You were just talking to him as if you were actually relenting a little bit and now you sound like you were going to drive a sword through his forehead.

'Jezz thith girl ith more bi polar than me.' he sighed.

Silence fell again and this time stayed for hours, the sound of pages being flipped and Sollux shifting around were the only sounds. The air was so tense it practically flooded out when the door opened, letting the sunset to fill the space. You blinked adjusting to the blast of light and now fresh air. John was in the doorway with some food, the smell wafted into the air and made your stomach growl. He glanced at the troll cautiously before walking in.

"Thanks John." You smiled taking the plate.

"You're welcome" he smiled back and seemed to forget the eyes that were watching him.

Looking down at the plate you sighed, warm bread, cheese, some jerky and water, a peasents meal as always. He smiled before turning to leave and waved before the door closed again. The smell fell over the air and hit Sollux like a ton of bricks, he hadn't eaten all day and a few before. A small and almost unaduioble whine slipped from his throat but your hearing had caught it. He looked pitiful, his eyes transfixed on the piece of jerky you were about to eat. A sitr of something filled your gut, troll or not you couldn't just let him starve.

Pulling off a hunk of bread some cheese and some jerky you evened out the plate, taking your half off. He watched surprised as you stood and walked over to him. He sat there looking up at you, he half expected you to eat it in front of him. Instead you motioned him away from the bars. He slid back and you sat the food on a plate on his side. Sollux was confused, if he was your prisoner why were you treating him like this.

"Eat before I regret this." you turned around and began to eat the food, vaugly aware of the eyes on you.

He picked it up and began to eat quickly sating the unknown hunger in his stomach. You glanced up as he practically started to inhale the food.

"You keep eating like that and you'll choke." you flipped a page still reading about Gemini.

He didn't say anything but did slow down. Sollux honestly didn't know whast to think about you. You were beautiful with a tendancy to lash out violently but showed a kindness he didn't really know about. You were confusing and he blamed it on you being a woman. Night seemed to fall quickly compared to the rest of the day. You yawned loudly and closed the book, the candle was low and the wax making white tears down the brown of the pedastle. You didn't like the idea of sleeping anywhere near the troll but it'd be worse if you were tired and he escaped.

At least that's what you kept telling yourself. The bedroll was a simple thin peice of blanket the top folded over and tied to pretend to be a pillow. With a sigh you stretched out into the allure of sleep, the last image was of a gold blooded troll leaned against the wood. He watched you sleep falling into it with eagerness. You didn't toss or turn just laid there, hair sprawled out under you, your muscles untensed making you look innocent. Your steady breathing was hypnotising and he soon felt his eyes slip shut.

Screams, blood. Everything was blurry as you opened your eyes. Fire spread across the roof tops, inhuman screams mixed with the farmers own ones. Yells, shouts. Someone picked you up, a panel opened and you were set inside. A blured face told you to stay inside and be a good girl. Lips touched your forehead as the panel closed, small holes letting you see out into the room that looked like a kitchen. Fire was outside illuminating everything in the hut. A figure stood in the doorway, long horns spiraling up and a grin that cracked it's face. Wild hair that caste a long shadow. A scream sounded in your ears along with a roar that shook the entire place. Red splatered across everything seeping through the holes and splashing against your face. Your heart felt like it stopped. The panel was snatched open and the thing pulled you out by your hair. You screamed and kept screaming. That smile, that grin. It promised certian death and all you could do was scream.

Sollux woke in a start as a moan escaped you as if you'd been run through with a weapon.

He walked over to the bars, " _______."

He watched as you began to twist and turn, your breathing coming out in pants. A small scream erupted from your throat.

"_______._______._______!" he yelled, rattling the bars slightly.

He watched as screams filled the air, you were screaming loudly enough it slightly viberated the caravan. Your screams reached inhuman heights. Dave was the first one in the room as your screams echoed outside. You were screaming in utter pain and desperastion. Tears falling out of your closed eyes.

"_______!_______!" Sollux yelled with Strider trying to make you wake up.

A voice fell into your dream, a diffrent voice than the things growls. This voice had a growl to it but it wasn't as promenate and was more desperate sounding. It had a diffrent pitch than anyone you knew.

"Will you juth wake up!" that lisp, you knew that voice it was...

You were jolted out of your dream and wrapped onto the closest thing which was Strider. You were panting, eyes wide and most of your face was buried in the crook of Dave's shoulder. He didn't push you off just rested his hands on you arms and gave a small and soft hug before a small squeeze. You pulled back, eyes transfixed on the troll behind Dave.

"_______? Are you okay?" Dave's voice registered in your mind but your eyes never left Sollux, who looked concerned.

"Y-yea." you nodded, breathing coming in short pants.

He nodded and left before checking that you were okay for the hundred time. It shocked you, it wasn't Dave's voice that pulled you from the nightmare. Instead it was the troll who was still locked in your gaze. Why was it he was able to wake you up but Dave who was shouting as much as him and shaking you couldn't. What had let him do that and why was it in the very deep part of your mind was that a sliver of comfort? The silent stare war was quit when he blinked and looked away.
"Are you thure your alright?" He asked standing, relasing the grip he didn't even know he had on the bars.

You simply nodded not able to speak. Why was he able to wake you up? The question kept playing in your mind as you laid back down closing your eyes, wary of more nightmare. The Gemini watched you fall asleep again, his blood organ beating quickly in his chest. He'd never seen anyone in so much pain. He had seen what had happened when he yelled for you to wake up. Your eyes had opened without a second thought. It was a shock to him that the human trying to wake you up couldn't. What had happend? He didn't give it much more thought as he sank down against the wood, eyes closing.

'I'd never felt my blood pumper beat so fast.' he thought before his eyes slid shut.
